My American dream

So tried and so true

Abandoned by an administration

Who screwed me and screwed you

Please hold not a grudge

Let the past stay the past

For without our full energy

These hard times shall last

Our new American hope

Doing the right things

Helping all dreams come true

Obama has inspired

That voice in us all

Shouting out of silence

Let all come stand tall

Our new American hope

About me and about you

A humble reverends dream

Finally come true

Our prayers are answered

And placed in our hands

Let us all work together
