Celebrities are gorgeous people us common folk envy and love to read about. Such scandalous folks! Between shaved heads, teenage pregnancy, and Lohan bouncing rehab places like they were Disney vacations, what stars managed to make a huge comeback in 2008?
Nicole Richey has to get huge props for her reappearance on the Hollywood scene. After she got into it with Paris Hilton we almost forgot she existed. Who would have ever thought the brat that acted like such a snob around America with Hilton would ever become a mother? If you have any doubts about just what a brat she was, refer back to her daycare experience on television. In fact, let me provide you with a link that blogs the entire episode. www.realitynewsonline.com Yes, the same girl that tried to give children away to strangers for a day is now a mother. Slightly scared for her child, sure, but what an adorable baby! And mom has healthy cheeks again instead of the anorexic skeleton she was becoming.
Brittany Spears managed to lay low after the first quarter of the year and really dedicate herself to getting back on track. Was it because of the parental supervision or did the former Disney star finally grow up? She looked like her gorgeous self again by the time VMA nights rolled around and even snagged some prizes!
Ladies will probably remember, with some embarassment, the New Kids on the Block craze. The fella's are back and getting ready to go live again. There was publicity in 2008 for these guys but I have to wonder how many fans they still have? When my husband finds an old box of memento's with the entire series of New Kids on the Block trading cards I get teased through the floor. He would laugh me out of the house if I suddenly hung on their new music. And they aren't as young as they used to be so will they capture the teenage girls hearts? This comeback will be interesting to watch. I still say this could flop by the end of 2009.
Those of us who remember the hunky New Kids on the Block will also remember the Spice Girls. They garned a ton of publicity for their new tour! Those hot momma's are toning up and slimming down but they already look fantastic! This is another group to keep a sharp eye out for. These ladies haven't lost their edge at all but you might see one of their kids in the picture shots on occassion.
Bon Jovi also went on tour again in 2008. He might not have completely vanished off the scene but I hadn't heard his name in years. If you haven't heard his newest songs check out his website and listen to I love this Town. http://www.bonjovi.com/bonjovi/ The music is more country rock than the diehard rock of the old days, but very enjoyable to listen to. Now, I have to go and shop for this record.
