Cowboy, y'all rounding up the cattle for spring. Jed, the cowboy looked down at his boots, folded his bandanna handkerchief and knotted it around his neck. Go get them cowboy and the rodeo began. For Jed to catch and brand his cattle he had to be able to rope them in heavy bush or in a moving herd. The crowds cheered in excitement as he rounded up the steer and rode a bronco. Go get them cowboy! Ye Ha!

At the ranch Tom, Jed's son spent the whole day milking the cows. Maya belle was his black and white Holstein cow and the cream colored jersey's name was Annabelle. For the amount of food they ate Clementine the goat gives us far more milk than Maya belle and Annabelle.

The pigs were wallowing in their muddy places. Tom called his sister Annie to come and help him but Annie was busy feeding the calves and playing by the pond with the ducks and geese. Gosh, said Tom i am going to have to do everything myself. Rover called Tom; rover. rover. where are you?, yelled Tom. Rover was the pet prairie dog that his dad brought home. Come on, help me with the sheep! Rover was in the barn sleeping and came running when he heard Tom. Go gather the sheep rover, good boy. Tom opened the gate so that the sheep could enter the yard.

Dad showed up yonder and shouted, "Tom wait I'll give you a hand. Ted was riding a horse named Maverick. Are you back from the rodeo already, exclaimed Tom, i am so glad to see you, i couldn't manage the farm by myself. You did a good job son, i will take you hunting later today. Oh boy!, dad i would love that, can we go right away? Let's go son.

Jed and Tom followed a long trail once used by the Indians. It lead them deep into the forest. What's that footprint?, asked Tom. It was a footprint of a large black bear. Watch out, said Jed , the black bears are dangerous. As they continued they stumbled on a pack of wild buffalo. Run shouted Jed we are getting near a stampede of them. Maverick, Jed's horse started to buck, Tom's horse named Castle went galloping quickly in the opposite direction. I'll meet you beyond the lake, Jed shouted to Tom. The herds of Buffalo finally disappeared.

Exhausted from their chase they finally reached the lake and Jed and Tom got off their saddles and sat down. Gosh, that was dangerous, we could have been killed. I know son, let's go for a walk and talk.

The lake was nice and refreshing. They both sat down and put their tired feet in the water. That felt good. Look at the geese said Tom, do you have any bread to feed them, dad? No son my chuck wagon is at home. I will use my hunting knife to hunt down some moose.

Suddenly, they spotted a short, brownish coated deer with white coloring. Ted took out his lasso and quickly looped onto the horns of the running deer. He was dragged by the deer but his high heeled boots steadied him on the ground. They trapped the deer and brought him back to the farm. That's enough for today said Jed, let's go home and see if Annie can make us some grub for dinner. They followed the long trail back home with the deer thrown on the back of the horse and ventured back to the farm. Our chores are done.
