BEST TRAVELING DAY OUTFITS

Traveling for comfort and enjoyment are the two most important things to think about after you have taken care of the "where to stay", "what to do" portions of your day trip.

SUNNY DAY TRAVELING

For Men

If the weather is hot men could wear comfortable shorts, preferably a dark color and an open neck short-sleeved shirt or polo shirt. A straw hat or hat with good ventilation is important to wear on a day trip. Sandals or flip-flops are comfortable for a lot of men, however tennis or deck shoes and socks might be easier to walk in. It depends on the fellow wearing them.

For Women

On a hot traveling day women will be most comfortable in their slacks, shorts, or skirt for comfort. Blouses or lightweight jackets are fine if they are comfortable and the fabric is lightweight and breathes. A sundress is great to wear because it is not binding and is comfortable. If the weather is bright and sunny a hat is a must as are sunglasses or protective lens.

I prefer slacks or capri's with elastic waists and fabrics with stretch, such as cotton with spandex. They are comfortable and have a little "give" while sitting for any length of time. Dressing for comfort while looking fresh are important and you will feel great.

Fabrics

During the hot daytime weather fabric is an important consideration when traveling. The traveler won't be able to pull off the road and change clothes, so choosing material fitting for the weather is first and foremost.

A micro fiber is superb for hot weather travel. There are lightweight fabrics made from a super fine filament. This silky fabric is wrinkle resistant, making it high on the list of fabrics for daytime travels.

Favorite natural fabrics for generations have been cotton, linen, rayon and silk. They are breathable and naturally cool. I am not generally a fan of linen because on me it wrinkles. The selections of garments in these fabrics are endless.

Sun Protective fabrics such as a cotton t-shirt with the tight weave has a UPF rating of UPF8 which actually means you will be able to stay out in the sun 8 times longer.

A fabric I'm not real familiar with, but is highly recommended is CoolMax, a trademark of Dupont. It is purported to be the "next generation" polyester meaning it releases the perspiration out rather than keeping it inside the garment.

COLD WEATHER TRAVELING

Men and women need to layer their clothing to adjust to changing body temperature. Taking umbrellas is wise if you don't know how the weather is going to be
