is satisfied, then the guilty is freed. We too have been freed because Jesus sacrificed himself for man. The proof is found following the crucifixion when Jesus was restored to life after three days. He was seen by over 500 witnesses during the forty days after his resurrection. A woman named Mary saw Jesus who said to her, "Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God." (John 20:17)
No one else but Jesus has claimed to have the means to restore us to God. Jesus is the only one who rose from the dead. Jesus is the only one who claimed to be God's Son and was without sin. People can choose what they believe, we have free will, but the evidence is overwhelming that Jesus was who He said He was. Even the disciple Thomas witnessed the presence of the resurrected Jesus, and identified Him by the wounds from the crucifixion on His hands and feet. (John 20:26-29)
The question now becomes, will God restore us to Himself, forgiving us our offenses against Him? Jesus says He does. "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." (John 14:1-3)
Is Jesus then the only way of salvation? Absolutely; no one can be saved from the punishment of sin and restored to a relationship with God unless they accept Jesus as the Savior. If you want to be saved, then you must follow Jesus. Jesus is God's plan. There is no other.
