Oh how i could weep, for the loss of sleep,
And spiral in despair,
I ware myself out, then start storming about,
With a pail look and a stair,
I really need sleep but for some reason can't,
Alert and wide awake,
Till the break of dawn again and again,
Not much more of this i can take,
I want to be dreaming of wonderful things,
Of treasured places that fantasy brings,
But i'll lay here once more just like before,
With things running through my mind,
For if i could sleep no more would i weep,
And i once more would be kind.

Poetry: Insomnia
Take a pill for this and take a pill for that
Lock the doors, turn out the lights and don't forget the cat
Put on your pj's
I’m trapped again in this dizzy dance
Where I writhe alone, spinning
In this restless trance.
Back and forth as the tide

Insomnia
No sleep.
No escape.
She is haunting the house now, moving like shadow;
Light as a whisper in the almost- morning
No
by Jon Coe
I wish to sleep, on heavy eyes
just one minute, please tantalize
But alas, as soon as I begin to dream
I am awakened, by this
by C.M. Tucker
If windows would close long enough,
Maybe unexpected dreams would rise
And challenge pain
That keeps insomnia company.
