I've always been curious about the subject of motivation, where does it come from? What moves people to nail one achievement after another? Why don't they relax when they are good already like I did most of my life? I guess I understand that now!
Motivation is a quality of enjoying the process of becoming better, rather that satisfaction of being good already. This way of self conscious is depicting life as a process, not as a finished result of that process, success therefore, is the ability to enjoy self development, rather than diminishing yourself by thinking that you are bad, or by thinking: "it's too difficult"! because when you say that, you send a message to your subconscious mind that "you" is the problem, when it sees other people doing it. When you think like that you put obstacles in your own way, by not believing in yourself in the first place, and that's the golden rule: if you don't believe in yourself, you will never succeed, that's just the way it works.
When you believe in yourself, you must understand that you are good not because you are too smart, but because Allah gave you this gift, so you are not better than other people, you just OWE Him more than they do.
Therefore you should be thankful, and that's the highway to believing in yourself. Once you start to notice blesses in your life, and to be grateful for them, you will practice your mind to see the bright angles of your life, and your world view will be more positive and optimistic. One of those angles in your life is you yourself, you will learn more about your abilities, and to think positively to maximize your benefits from them, you will also look positively at you weaknesses and think positively about the way you can strengthen them and evolve in their fields, and that's one of the major components of success.
Looking at your role model, don't think smaller of yourself, just study their biggest advantage that toke them to that place, and try progressing on that level, and don't think that when you will master that you will instantly become the best, being the best is being always vigilant about your process of being the best, being the best is a process not a state. Where ever you see weakness deal with it objectively, be honest with yourself, accept any critics, and try to find out why it was said, but in the same time, don't listen to quitters or just people who may enjoy you or even hate you, be yourself, be proud, and always move forward, don't let the thinking of "I'm good" relaxes you, but in the same time, don't let the notion of "that's too hard" stop you , balancing yourself between those too lines as long as you shall live, means being successful.
Think big, don't think small, but don't let the distance to the goal intimidate you, it's there, you can reach it, just work for it, divide the distance into stages, and give yourself a period of time to get to that sub-goal, do whatever you possibly can to achieve it, and enjoy doing so .
In short, to achieve goals in life, one must make the process of achieving itself an everyday goal, and even shorter, success is enjoying the progress.
