Writing clear and concise article summaries

by Debby Richardson

So you want to write articles and be a writer. Well there is a process that you must take in order to write the perfect article that editor's, and publishers are looking for.

The first process is sitting down and either write as to their critique or topic that they have chosen or if you're a freelance writer make up a topic that you know well. This can be on a complex subject or an easy topic on a well-known subject.

When you're given a topic that you do not know about, then the second step is to do your research and make notes. To do this you must then do a thorough study of a topic in order to have a well written, informative article that people would like to read and to keep your readers attention.

The third step is to sit down and write that article off of your research notes or comprise an article on the chosen topics. Make sure the topic is well written and well informative so that people who read your work may learn off of your articles or see a different perspective about the topic in hand.

Always write the truth about a topic of your choosing or the facts of the publishers topic that they assign as well, do not make things up just to get that article completed in a hurry just for that paycheck. Make your article clear and concise so that your meaning is easily understood and comes across to the readers who read your articles. The best articles and novels that are written are articles with heart and feelings in them. This will show the reader your compassion on any one topic and makes for a great article or published work such as novels, children's books or a technical paper.

The fourth process is spelling and grammar. Make sure you make your article, easy to read with not allot of complicated words in it. Always remember that most people don't have the education or the knowledge to know the meaning of very complicated words such as Tautology. Some, people who will be reading your work, may not have the education to know what those words mean or know how to even pronounce them. Spelling is most important in your work, so make sure you use spell check and or a dictionary or both and read and re read your articles so that there is no misspelled words, or repeat sentences in your article.

It is easy to sit and write an article and not realize that you have already put in a thought in that article that you are writing and then put it in again thinking you had forgotten some of the important facts that you've already put into that article or literary work that you have just constructed. I myself have done this on various occasions as a professional writer. I can not reiterate to make your sentences make sense and easily understood.

The last process is to submit your article for acceptance, and be patient. It will take the publisher or editor some time to get back with you with a yes or no answer as to them publishing your article. Your article is not the only article that they receive and it takes time in the busy world of publishing to get to your article and read it, then let you know if they will publish your article or not.

If the publisher does not want to pay you and you are accepted, go ahead and take the job anyway. Keeping your name out in the literary world is good for your upcoming reputation as a writer/author. Should you decide to write another article or a novel, the readers who have read your work will know you by not only your writing style, but also by your name as well. This later on makes reoccurring sales and the reputation that you've gained from your readers by keeping your name in the literary world will help boost your career as a writer in years to come.

Most editors and publishers does not want just a summery of your work, they prefer the entire article, or manuscript in order to base their decision on accepting your literary work when completed.
