Bridesmaid dress ideas for a beach wedding

When picking out bridesmaid dresses for a beach wedding, the bride must take into consideration a couple of different things. Not only does the bride need to consider the basics of bridesmaid dress shopping, like what the bridesmaids look like, but now must also consider the location of where the wedding is going to be. Beach weddings are quite popular with today's couples, so there are plenty of bridesmaid dresses available for beach weddings. Here are some ideas for appropriate bridesmaid dresses for a beach wedding.

Consider what the weather will be like before choosing your bridesmaid dresses for your beach wedding. You don't want to make your bridesmaid wear a heavy fabric like velvet when the weather is going to be hot and sunny. If you want your bridesmaids to be a little more covered up for the wedding even when it is warm outside, consider purchasing wraps or scarves for the girls to wrap around themselves for the wedding and can later take off for the reception.

Try to stay away from long bridesmaid dresses that will hang in the sand. Truthfully, no bridesmaid is going to want to go home with half of the beach still on the bottom of their dress or have to worry about tripping on their dress when walking through the sand. For a beach wedding try to choose bridesmaid dresses that are tea-length (mid-calf) or right under the knee. These dresses are still appropriate for weddings but are not as fussy as ankle-length dresses are. On the other hand, you don't want to have your bridesmaids wear min-dresses to the wedding. Consider also that the beach may be windy and you don't want one of your bridesmaids to be embarrassed by a dress that is too flowy and may cause a wardrobe malfunction.

Most beach weddings are more casual than weddings held at churches or indoors. You don't want your bridesmaids to feel over-dresses at your wedding, so think about getting more casual bridesmaid dresses. Think about a plain strapless dress or even a simple sundress. You don't have to shop at a wedding dress store to find bridesmaid dresses. Check out your local department stores for cute summer dresses that all the bridesmaids can wear.

Lastly, stick with colors that fit your beach wedding for the bridesmaid dresses. This may include light blue, pink, turquoise, yellow, green, and purple. You don't want harsh colors that don't fit in like dark red, brown, or all black. When you think of beach weddings you want to see colors that reflect nature and the beauty of the scenery.
