From TadPole to Frog
One day a mother frog found a small pond on the top of a small mountain in the woods. She laid her eggs coming back day after day to see when they hatched. One hot sunny summer day she returned to see many clouds of small bugs flying just over the top of the pond and small splashes of water flying into the air and landing on the rock around it.
She hopped slowly and very tirelessly over to the ponds edge and gazed down at all her little tadpoles. They swam to the edge just for a moment gazing up at the face that placed them so carefully in the pond. "Listen my little ones the old mother frog began."for this will be my last trip to the pond and the only chance to give you the advise I have learned over the time I have spent on this mountainside,
The little tadpoles gather closer carefully listening to the one and only time they will hear this voice of love and wisdom. "I have traveled back and forth to this pond each day since I placed you here. I have watched you grow and today I see you here swimming and catching bugs.
"But my little ones the sun is getting brighter in the sky the weather is getting hotter and one day your little pond will begin to get smaller. Stay in this pond only until your legs grow and find a new home. Stay out of the sun or the animals can see you, stay out of the heat or you will dry out and die and stay away from the rushing water as inviting as its cool edges maybe the water will carry you away forever.
The little tadpoles twisted around staring at the side of the algae cover rocks around their small pond unable to picture the running water or the animals their mother was speaking of since none had been in their small home. The old mother frog took a final look at her little ones moving around in their small muddy pond of warm water and hopped back into the trees.
As the old mother frog had predicted in the coming days their little legs began to grow in and their tails to disappear. One by one they jumped on the rocky edge of their ever shrinking home and hopped away.
But still a few small frogs remained behind satisfied with the small pond and the supply of easy to reach bugs they remained behind. When there was only three little frogs left in the pond the water had begun to get very warm and thick as it was more mud than water the earth around the little pond was cracked and dry. The sun shined down hard and hot one little frog jumped on the hot rocks begging his brothers to listen to him.
"It's too hot and there is
