Dear President Obama,
First, congratulations on your victory. As a contributor to your campaign as well as a volunteer at the local Obama phone headquarters, I felt like it was my victory as well.
Your campaign slogan was "Yes we can" or at least that's what everyone yelled at campaign rallies. It's a good slogan because there have been so many times when this country was facing hard times and we have always come together with a "yes we can" attitude.
You are unlike any president before you. Not because of your race but because you are the first president of the 21st century. You use the tools and technology that weren't available to those who sat where you sit now. You use them effectively.
There were already so many things going on when you took office. And more have been added or increased. You seem tireless. So here's one suggestion. Make sure you eat a good healthy diet with protein and good carbohydrates.
My next suggestion is to get plenty of exercise. That shouldn't be hard with two lively daughters and a new puppy. Bo will also help you to release stress. Simply petting a dog slows your heart rate, lowers your blood pressure, and releases endorphins that make you happy.
I don't know much about politics or policies but I do have years of experience as the mother of three. Being a mother is excellent training for many jobs. I was a Unit Secretary on a hematology/oncology in-patient unit. My job was to make sure everything that was supposed to happen happened and to keep track of everyone including patients, nurses, doctors, nursing assistants, and family members.
I was good at my job because I had the skills needed when keeping track of three active kids, dogs, cats, a husband, and my own activities. In effect I was the mother of the unit.
Now I'm not saying you are the mother of our country but you need the same skill set. The key is in prioritizing. The other key is juggling. I always felt like I had six or so balls in the air and couldn't let any of them hit the floor.
But just keeping them in the air doesn't solve problems or keep things running smoothly. You have to deal with one without dropping the others. You seem to have a good team and you listen to them. That's where you prioritize. Who gets which ball while you're dealing with another?
On a hospital unit there is a team and everyone on the team is vital. It's very much like the chain of command. The lower ranks take care of the small tasks on up to you the Commander-in-chief.
Then there
