My car is always running on empty
My job bores me to absolute tears
My love life is like a disaster documentary
I haven't caught a break in eighteen years
But you text me
Or you call me
And all of that just melts away
You IM me
And you tell me
That everything will be okay
When i see you
When i hear you
It's like finding money in my favorite jacket
And i can breathe again
Can't find jeans for reasonable prices
I work for gas money just to drive to work
The dog chewed up my favorite flip-flops
And the guy at the grocery store was really a jerk
But you text me
Or you call me
And all of that just melts away
You IM me
And you tell me
That everything will be okay
When i see you
When i hear you
It's like finding money in my favorite jacket
And i can breathe again
You're like a splash of scarlet in a sepia photograph
Or jumping in puddles wearing bright yellow boots
Like eating oatmeal in a baggy old sweater
Or sipping cocoa beneath the moon
Being with you feels like afternoon sunshine
How can i help that i've fallen for you?
Cuz you text me
Or you call me
And all of the stress just melts away
You IM me
And you tell me
That everything will be okay
When i see you
When i hear you
It's like finding money in my favorite jacket
And i can breathe again.
