President Obama, our 44th President, has just been sworn into Office as President of the United States of America on this 20th day of January, 2009. Is Barack Obama an eligible recipient of the Office he now fills? What are the qualifications of eligibility for a person serving such a prestigious position as President of our Country?

The Constitution of the United States of America contains three qualifications for eligibility to serve as President to our country. The first of these is, "No person except a natural born Citizen...shall be eligible to the Office of President;". The second qualification states, "Neither shall any person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty five years." The final and last of the three qualifications requires a person to have been a resident within the United States fourteen years prior to serving as the President of the United States.

Considering the three qualifications as a whole how does President Obama fair? Early on Barack's Citizenship to this country was in question. The Court of law settled this debate in President Obama's favor. It seems his father is from Africa, which makes his father a foreigner, and his mother is from Kansas. His birth took place in America. Barack Obama is 47 years old so he qualifies in the age department. Barack Obama and his wife are both American citizens, and have been for the fourteen years prior to the Presidency.

The TV news is still reporting on the procession of the Presidential parade. The crowds of people are huge. They are cheering and shouting so loud. Tears of happiness flow. The Presidential family just took possession of the White House. They are presently getting acquainted with their new home. What a marvelous thing it is to live in the White House; in Washington D. C. The day is a big one for the first family. They will be pretty tired as night falls.

Our new President has a big responsibility ahead of him and his wife faces many new and exciting responsibilities as first lady. What an image Michelle Obama has to hold before her nation! Can she do it? First and foremost our first lady rallies to her immediate family, after that the image building. It is reported how good a family life the Obama's live. They will of course try to maintain this sort of high quality of life. The Obama daughters are 10 and 7 years old. This is not the only family with children to have occupied the White House, but they are the ones there now. They are in the spotlight of a nation. They are the first and foremost family to our nation.
