What a great question!

It's not that we actually care for celebrities it's more that we waste so much time reading about them and watching all their doings - that's the big issue here. Because most celebrities are just ordinary people doing a bunch of stupid stuff to catch everybody elses attention. Already at the school yard you see the same tendencies. Some kids spend all their time doing crazy stuff to be noticed. Most of them actually get the attention because they are skilled at sports or whatever and we all want to be skilled at something. If we are all lucky the skilled persons are also nice people who remember there friends even though their lives changes dramatically but as I see it most celebrities are not nice. They use any means of getting in the limelight and if a friend is in the way- too bad for him.

So hopefully the reason for why we care so much for celebrities is that we all somehow wish that they would just calm down and be more natural and like everybody else. I just don't want to believe that we all want to be dum a.. idi...
