Out of every orifice
And into every creed
There crawled a rotten maggot
Who wanted us to bleed.
In every darkened crevice
Of every moonlit night
There slept an evil monster
Decaying in its plight.
In everybody's bedroom
Underneath everyone's stairs
There waited unhatched larvae
In tiny, pungent lairs.
In every ancient gateway
Of all historic towns
There lay a large black creature
Just waiting to be roused.
On everybody's person
In everybody's brain
There sleeps a secret so dark
It has to rise again.
