I had a dream that took my breath away
you were there and I heard you say
that you'd love me until the end of time
and I've never felt more alive
then I awoke to see
that it was all just a dream
how could it all feel so real?
Then the pain came rushing in through my heart
reminding me how you were gone, and how we fell apart
It seems like forever has passed since I've been missing you
and the thought of our very first kiss still brings me to my knees
you're still so close that I still feel you
most of all, loving you is what I miss
just a faded memory
that I can barely see
you'll always be my dream
you're the love of my life!
Its a shame we didn't hold on
to our love and now you're gone
I saw forever when I looked into your eyes
but I could not see past all of your lies
you took my heart and my forgiveness
now I wish it had mattered less
I'd give anything to hold you once again
I lost the love of my life and my very best friend!

Poetry: Lost love
by Olu Burrell
I think about you when I'm looking ahead
And also in moments of reminiscence
But do me a favor and don't ask me
To tell you
The man in the jacket, walking through snow,
His faithful friend, always in tow,
Forever smiling, happy look on his face,
Whatever
So there we were
Looking up at the sky,
Together.
Truly thought
That you and I
Could storm
Any kind of weather.
I still
Do not wait for me with bated breath,
because my heart dances to and fro.
Its chambers are hollowed and empty
it longs for
As a bird perched on the edge of its nest
eyes searching the unknown world outside
strengthening its wings, yearning to fly
