The true cause of fast food service problems

I am not positive about what would be considered a fast food service problem. I am assuming this refers to anytime an order is made wrong, or a food service worker is rude or unpleasant. I would have to say that for the former the reason is a simple one; people make mistakes, I really don't think it needs to be analyzed any further. Perhaps there has been a decline in customer service as the economy worsens since restaurant servers as well as fast food workers would feel the brunt of this disaster in a devastating way. As people start to crack down on their spending, eating out becomes a luxery many of us can't afford which leads to unemployment and smaller earnings for tip dependant workers.

As for fast food workers being rude or just generally unpleasant I think that can get a bit more complicated. Many of us have had food service jobs at some point in our lives so we should be able to understand the stress of customer service. In any job dealing directly with the public one may run into an ample variety of problems. How many of us can say that we are in a sunny pleasant mood every single day of our lives. Not many. However we all expect customer service workers of all fields including food service to me pleasant and accommodating all the time. Get real.

Customers can be brutal and disrespectful. This can break down the nerves of even the most patient food service worker. The consumer attitude needs to change just as much as the service provider's. Some of the customer behaviors I have observed in fast food and sit down restaurants over the years has been enough to make me sick. If everyone would just stop to remember that the person taking our order is a human being and that it is not OK to treat them as a second class citizen, then maybe fast food employees would be a gittier group.

Now I know many of us have been treated badly by food service employees and other customer service workers. However I must remind us all of that wise old saying "two wrongs don't make a right". Let us rise above and not feel the need to return the bad attitude we may receive with more negativity. If we all make an effort to have some respect for one another every experience we have will be a better and yeah I'm gonna say it, the world would be a better place. So remember getting a chalupa instead of a gordita is not the end of the world and hot sauce may be even better than fire sauce so why not give it a try? So let us all just get over ourselves a bit and try to just be nice!
