I saw an old photograph of you
and the sparkle in your eyes
it was so innocent and beautiful
something I can't quite describe
You were holding onto daddy
you were the apple of his eye
Noone could have guessed
how he would hurt you,
kept his secrets wrapped in lies
My heart has been so broken
for all that you've been through
what we thought was daddy
giving a token of his love for you
was a nightmare that would follow you
for so many years to come
All your pain and shame
things that only you knew
could be erased but never undone
and
all the years that you have suffered
paralyzed with such intense fear
you were never able to get too close
or let anyone to near
Sadly, long after daddy had passed away
you lived in toment, still torn apart
I prayed that all your pain
would disappear
with each new beat of your heart
But it didn't-
Then a miracle from heaven above
came to you in the form of innocent love
he swept you off of your feet
and you fell in love so very fast
with a heavenly love that was made just for you
and it surely would forever last
And it was then that all of the past, emptiness, and pain
disappeared as you found
that His love never hurt or left you
it always remained
and from the moment you both met
until you both took your last breath
your heart finally knew love,
and
found long awaited peace and rest
