The benefits of using a stability ball in your training

We have all heard about stability ball workouts, and now you have decided to try this type of workout. You can't just jump into this type of workout, first you must decide what size ball and type to buy. You need to choose the ball that is right for you. Today you can find all kinds of stability balls online and in most stores, such as Walmarts and KMarts. When buying a stability ball I recommend buying a stability ball workout video to help you understand how the ball works, and how to properly do the exercises.

Ok a little about choosing the right size ball for you. Balls usually go by the persons height, as the ball must fit the body, this way you will get the proper workout, and the body will feel comfortable on the ball, and there will not be a struggle to use the ball. Here I will list some of the ball sizes and choices.

Diameter: 30cm ( 11.8" ) User Height: 4'6"

Diameter: 45cm ( 17.7" ) User Height:4'6"-5'0

Diameter:55cm (21.6") User Height: 5'1-5'7"

Diameter:65cm (25.5") User Height: 5'8"-6'1

Diameter:75cm (29.5") User Height:6'2"-6'7"

You can incorporate ball workouts into any workout routine that you do now, or decided to just concentrate just on the ball workout itself. Here are some benefits from ball workouts. First however you will need to learn to balance the body on the stability ball, and this will take a little practice to master, also maintaining proper alignment is very important as this way all the muscles get a good workout, and you don't injure any muscles. When you work out on the ball the abs get an awesome workout ( abs are a core muscle ), as well as a good workout for the lower back. Working out on the ball will improve balance, endurance, muscle strength and muscle tone, and will work all the muscle in the body, as well as improve flexibility, improve coordination and posture, as well as helping to lose weight. Since the ball demands good balance, you will work muscles that you did not know you had, and you will challenge the muscles in many different ways. You will tones the chest, arms, abs, butt and thighs. So in ending have fun with the stability ball workouts, and be sure to try many different exercises and challenge all the muscles for the best workout possible. Do however ease into a ball workout, just as you would with any exercise program. One more thought: , doing stability ball workouts will give you more energy and stamina for everyday activities.
