Everyone has their excuse. I'm too tired. I don't have time. It's too cold outside. It's too hot outside. I'll do it tomorrow. When it comes to regular exercise everyone has their excuses they use. I'm here to tell you to stop making excuses. I too have been guilty of this same thing, but not any more. I've discovered the joy of in home walking through a set of dvds.
I had lost about 30 pounds through weight watchers alone when I found myself unable to lose any more weight. From day one of the program you're told that along with follwoing they point system, you should also partake in some sort of weekly exercise plan that's right for you. I lost 30 pounds without the exercise, but when no more pounds would fall off I decided it was time. I added exercise to my routine. I was browsing on of my favorite stores Ross one Saturday afternoon and found these great little walking dvds called "Walk Away the Pounds." I picked up two differnt ones. One is a one mile and two mile dvd and the other is a three mile dvd. I also purchased a resistance band for about five dollars. Since adding these dvds to my routine I've shed an additional twenty pounds, making my current total loss fifty pounds.
If your anything like me you shutter at the thought of going to a gym. I know that generally everyone goes to the gym for the same reason, however I am too embarassed at my current weight to go to a gym. I also don't have hundreds of dollars to buy fancy at home gym equipment either. So, these dvds are a great alternative. I alternate between the one mile and two mile dvds about five days a week. At twenty and thirty five mintues for each of these walks, I really can't complain about not having time. They are easy enough for almost anyone to do, even us gals who are more than fifty pounds overweight. However I can still tell that these simple indoor walking moves are working. Who would have ever thought that indoor walking at home would make you beak a sweat. It doesn't matter if it's 110 degrees outside or 20 below, I am able to do my dvd no matter what the weahter outside is like. The videos are also very motivational. The instructor and walkers are there for you encouraging you along the way. I've recently picked up two five pound weights at the store and have incorporated them into my one mile dvd workout. By doing the moves and adding the weights I've increased my calorie and fat burning potential.
So for anyone who might not have money for a gym and might not have a whole lot of extra time on their hands, I recommend these great "Walk Away the Pounds" dvds. It tuely is an enjoyable workout that actually works.
