How to write more a day

Among the many writing concerns a writer has, a big one is that they are not producing enough a day. Whether you write articles, short stories, poetry, or novels, there is a way to produce more words a day. There is also a way to do it in a shorter amount of time. These are just a few things that help me produce more writings a day.

Set Daily Goals: I think the best way for me to get down to work is to set realistic goals for myself everyday. I will say to myself or put down in writing, "I will write five articles today." You can also apply that to your writing. Do not have the goal to write a whole book in a whole day. Instead, maybe try to write out a chapter a day. Another thing that goes along with setting goals is a little bit of planning. The days that I fall short on writing how many articles I want to have written are mostly due to lack of planning. It does not matter how many articles or words you want to write for that day. If you do not plan out time for yourself to write, then it is most likely not going to happen. Stay at home moms/dads, students, or even those who work full time and write on the side need to learn how to schedule time just for their writing. Make sure that this time is uninterrupted, whether that means you tell your family to give you that hour or two of peace or if it means you have to turn off all surrounding distractions. Another big thing you should roughly plan so that you are not wasting time is what you are going to write about. This maybe pertains more to those who write articles. You do not have to have a firm outline of what you will write, but an idea will save much time of thinking. Usually, I write articles based on assignments or a topic I feel like writing or researching that day. Before I even start the article, I will jot down a couple of article ideas. This helps me write articles, even when I am experiencing writer's block.

Write Time and Place: To be more successful in writing more, you have to find your successful place and time. By this I mean, you have to find allow yourself to experiment with different writing settings. You may discover that you write the most at midnight or at the local coffee house. For me, I have to write on a computer that does not have internet connection to distract me , in a room isolated from the rest of my house. It is a little bit lonely and a pain to transfer my files to a different computer, but it is worth it to get the writing done.

Practice Makes Perfect: I think the best thing that has helped me write faster and more is just by practicing. When I first started writing articles, I was lucky to produce one every other day. I was slow and not very disciplined. I did not necessarily punish myself, I just kept at it. The more I wrote the faster I got. I know this may not be the miracle solution you were looking for to write faster and more. It is true though. If you just keep at it you will see in the matter of weeks how much more quickly you can type or how many more articles you can write in that day.
