Hi, Even though am very open minded i would have to agree with you about not having the president end the don't ask don't tell policy. Being myself a United States Marine at Marine Corps Air Station San Diego California, i find it not necessary for that plan to be implemented. One, I was in Boot Camp in the Marine corps and the process is very emotional and uncomfortable and stressful especially in the first month of boot-camp, where you just starting to begin to learn about all the rules of being in the military. I don't think that as a marine in the united states military, i could of completed boot-camp if i knew some of the people in boot-camp where gay, trust me if the marine corps knew you where gay in boot-camp the drill instructor would of mess you up so that you current complete boot camp. If you don't know what a drill instructor is i would suggest you go to marine corps website and see them, you can see some of the videos of boot-camp training. These men are the tough ass mother F$#@ in the world, seriously they are the ones that make the world finest soldiers so they them selves are the worlds finest, they make the world toughest soldiers. Don't sit in your little desk, and write down that you think that president Obama will take the don't ask don't tell policy. The first week of boot-camp is were you check in and make sure that you have everything that you suppose to have for the three months of training that will begin, then you meet your basic drill instructors which teach you the basic of the military before you meet your actual drill instructor. The point that am trying to make is not that marines are tough or that being gay is wrong or that drill instructors will make fun of you in boot camp and make you cry because it is all true. Regular civilians when they first go somewhere like boot camp and their made to take all the bad habits taken away from them can't have in their mind that a member of their team is also sexually attracted to them especially a member of their own sex, that would make some one extremely uncomfortable because marines are suppose to be very close. They are buddies, they have a bond. Thats what makes us the world best, is because if you hit one of our buddies we will fight with you ask if you had originally intended to do it to us. Plus the fact that we shower naked, go work out at the gym and are often time doing exercise that require the whole team to be joined together as a bundle. So you can say its ok for the president Obama to take it off, it is ok. But if your in the Military where better off not knowing because it wont affect us, we don't care if your gay just keep it your business.
