A much overlooked strategy in advertising your business, is the good old Direct Mail strategy. If you learn how to use Direct Mail properly, the result can be truly amazing. For your bottom line, that is.
There is no business that cannot benefit from Direct Mail. However, up to 95% of business owners have never sent a Thank You letter, let alone a sales letter to their customers. These two types of letters will keep your customers coming back. Customers want a friendly personal service and regular contact or communication from you.
Think about it for a second: if you don't write or call your friends every now and then, you will end up loosing contact with them after a while. The same is true for your customers. A friendly, personalised letter is the next best thing to personally visiting your customers with products in your hand. It will give your business a big advantage over your competition, no matter what their size is or how many more stores they have. Everyone loves doing business with someone they feel connected with.
Please realise that it will cost you five times as much to gain a new customer as it does to sell something else to an existing customer. This is a simple fact that most business owners fail to take into consideration. Most business owners spend all their time, money, and efforts in chasing new customers rather than nurturing the ones they already have. Why? Most likely because they have never really used Direct Mail properly.
I can almost guarantee that once you have seen just how well Direct Mail works, you will never go back to anything else. The reason why Direct Mail works so well, is because it shows your customers that you care about them. Care about them enough to send them a personal letter. The sort of letter that they get from a friend.
Your customers will like getting letters from you. After all, they have given you their trust and money in the first place, and now you show them that you care about them. A letter can also tell them about something special, such as a "Customer Only Sale", a new product or service that you now offer, even some helpful information that they might appreciate. Your customers will love it. And they will love you.
By using Direct Mail, you can make your message as long or as short as you like. You can send as many or as few of these "little sales people" as you like. And, you can test different
