Ten ways to improve your psychic abilities

We are all born with phychic abilities, some more profound than others. It is the honing of this skill that determines when and how we can access it. Becoming aware of what is going on within and around us is the basis for phychic developement. To do this we need to quiet the mind and become familiar with our inner selves. We need to be present and open to recieve when the messages come. Below are some suggestions to improve phychic ability.

1) Write - Writing, especially first thing each morning in freefall style, which is writing down whatever pops into your head clears the mind and opens the body to recieve. Use pen and paper and write as quickly as possible. After some seemingly random sentences, you may begin to see something emerge that has been bothering you on a subconcious level. Putting it down on paper clears it from your mind. It is the constant chatter of the mind that fogs feelings and perceptions, keeping us from recieving phychic contact.

2) Focus - Focus on doing one thing at a time, whether it be the laundry or a project you're finishing. When you concentrate on what you're doing, whatever it might be, you are in the moment-not in the past or future, but right "now". Once again this clears away the chatter and keeps us open.

3) Breathe - Learning to breathe properly fills the cells with oxygen, relieves stress and brings us to a place of serenity. Watching a baby breathe we notice it's the abdomen that rises and falls not the chest. The fast-paced lifestyle of today has caused the majority of us to adapt to shallow breathing which leaves our cells lacking in oxygen and our bodies stressed. As we practice proper breathing techniques our bodies become relaxed and our minds quieted leaving us open and focused. Joining a Yoga or Tai Chi class, or practicing Chi Kung are all ways of learning to focus on the breath while quieting the mind.

4) Silence - Find time every day for silence. Just sit and listen to the silence. You may be surprised at what comes in.

5) Walk - Walking is one of the best ways I know to become grounded. Besides being out in the fresh air, the steady rhythm of walking calms the mind and refills the spirit with well-being. While walking, practice becoming aware of the smells and sounds around you and commit them to memory. Then when a smell or sound is present for no apparent reason, you'll know exactly what it is and maybe what that particular sound or smell relates to. It may be the fragrance of a person who has passed on who wants
