You're stuck in a dead-end job and it's going nowhere. The latest economic downturn doesn't hold much promise either. Yet, you are firmly convinced that you were not meant to spend the rest of your working career this way. You've lost your drive, your creative mindset and edge in your present position and muddle through your days wishing you'd pursued that career you had a passion for as a kid. Then it hits you like a ton of bricks, you're in a rut.
When we find ourselves in this predicament in our jobs, it could be for any number of reasons. We may have hit a career brick wall because we've climbed as high on the corporate ladder as we possibly can go, thus leaving no room for advancement and little opportunity for new challenges. It could be that business is slow and we find ourselves twiddling our thumbs more during the day than actually being productive. Or maybe we've just simply gotten bored, so we sit behind our desks daydreaming of that perfect career and wishing we were anywhere but here. If you've reached this point in your job, then it's time for a career change.

Some refer to this as being in touch with your spiritual side. In the instance of making a career change, you have to truly think about your talents and gifts that you possess. What drives you? What things are you most passionate about? If you can answer those two questions with little difficulty, then you have the basis for building upon those thoughts and making them become reality.
Thoughts are things. The things you desire most can be easily attained because surprisingly that is where your focus lies most of the time. Maybe you've had a lifelong dream of being a writer. You know that this has been a passion since you were a kid. You know that you've written your entire life. But maybe somewhere along the way something happened that made you lose focus and derail your dream. Like most who fail to pursue their dream careers, you more than likely shelved the dream and concluded it was only a dream. As time has passed you've done writing here and there but because life got in the way you chalked it up to just a favorite pastime.
Now in present time, you find yourself sitting at your desk in your dead-end
