Media Left With Bias
Several nonpartisan think tanks in recent years have reported on the political contributions from media people. Not surprisingly among media persons who made paid political contributions between 2004 and 2008, 85% gave to Democrats and liberal interests, and about 12% gave to Republicans. This imbalance is consistent with similar media studies over the last twenty years where individuals in print and broadcast media, via their voter registrations, political party activism and financial support, overwhelmingly favored Democrats and liberal causes. Just as consistent has been the media's denial of their pervasive bias.
The liberal tradition in the American media has devolved into a daily diatribe of gratuitous pessimism, with petulant reporters and pundits chortling about America's difficulties at home and abroad - Bush's gentlemanly style allowed the slanders against him to go unanswered. The U.S. media operate an insular, unaccountable and grossly arrogant game of gotcha. Polls show that the rise of anti-American media bias tracks with the continuing decline in elite newspaper and network TV news consumption and credibility. If we can't expect patriotism from our media, we at least deserve some proportionality. Don't let the biased media elect our next President.
The terms "liberal" and "activist" are essentially synonymous in western culture - "liberal activist" is almost redundant. Liberal activist behaviors can be commonly profiled in persons that are publicly
