How to improve your earnings and traffic to Helium with links

You can improve your daily earnings by placing links to your Helium articles at other sites to increase traffic. High earners at Helium have done this using various tactics, and by placing links at different types of website. The main consideration is knowing how and where to place those links.

~ Links at Social Bookmarking Sites

Twitter is probably the best social media site for writers. You can link your Helium article list to your Twitter profile, and

follow Helium at Twitter. You can also add a "Follow me at Twitter" link to your Helium profile.

Use Twitter for microblogging, and make your profile interesting, not only for self promotion.

You should follow other people at Twitter, and try to build up a large following. Each of your followers will see all your updates. You can post frequent updates, and use any update to promote an article with a link.

When you join Reddit, StumbleUpon, Digg, or a similar online community, you must never use the site solely for self-promotion. Some of these sites will ban you for spamming if you only bookmark your own articles. It will also harm Helium if you persist in promoting only links to Helium articles.

The correct way to use bookmarking and social media sites is to be an active participant. Share many more links to other interesting items than links to your own Helium articles. Vote and comment on what other members are posting at the site, as you will expect others to do the same for you.

The secret of success at social media sharing sites is to introduce each article with an unusual or appealing title. Try to think of a heading that will really make people want to click the link and find out more.

~ Links at Specialist Websites

Whenever you write an article on a specific topic, search for some websites on the same subject. Try contacting website owners to suggest a link to your article will benefit their site. If your article contains information of interest to its visitors, you gain quality traffic from that site.

~ Links to Personal Websites and Blogs

Use your own blog or personal webpage to showcase your Helium articles. Embed links within blog posts, or add links to articles as a resource for further reading.

List all your article titles on your blog or website, introducing each article with a description, or use the opening paragraph from the article, as a hook to entice your visitor to click the article link.

On your blog you can create a separate webpage for "My Articles", you may use your blogroll to list articles, or textlink each title within a sidebar.

~ Banners, Email and Viral Links

You can link a Helium banner to a single article, or to your profile, and place some Helium banners on your webpages, blog or emails. Try requesting your family and friends to add your article links, or to host a Helium banner, on their own site or blog.

If you send out a lot of personal emails, always include links to some of your Helium articles. You should add links to private messages, when they are relevant.

Free article directories allow you to post articles and have a link of your choice placed in a resource box. Anyone using your free article on their own site or blog, in an e-zine or newsletter, has to include your resource box with its link.

~ Creative Linking

Try some or all the linking options. Think of alternative ways to place links back to articles.

The more articles you write on popular and interesting topics, in the high earning channels at Helium, the greater your earning potential.

The more linking you do to your articles, without spamming, the more page views your articles will get, and the faster your earnings will grow.
