Poetry: I do not cry

by Vicki Helgeland

Created on: January 22, 2007   Last Updated: May 14, 2007

I do not cry, alone in this place
There is no one to hide from
No one before me, nor after
will have seen my face

A tear-drop falling
Like a drop of rain
Would be lost in a downpour
Never...to be seen again

Sadness is wasted
without someone to share
So alone in this place
I really don't care

My sadness engulfs me
Yet my eyes remain dry
Nary a tear-drop
Will fall from my eye
