While some people consider MLM a scam thats something I wont comment on. Many people make great money in both affiliate marketing and MLM. The problem I see with MLM is that you are always practically begging people to sign up under you. You are always making promises about a company that usually you dont even know about. With affiliate marketing by the time someone purchases something they have come looking for it.

In my opinion affiliate marketing is far better than MLM. With MLM you are pretty much tied to a company and their policies. With affiliate marketing you have a ton of options and a lot of doors and directions you can take. Affiliate marketing has so many options available to you.

MLM is usually quite costly and then most MLM companies dont really show you how to advertise. I never learned a thing about SEO or keywords or anything like that from any MLM companies. They are great at convincing you to buy very expensive leads that usually dont turn out to much anyways.

I have experienced both ways of working online and hands down I will never go back to MLM. MLM companies are going broke everyday or changing the rules. As soon as you see them changing the rules thats a sure sign to get out. This usually means their cash flow is taking a turn for the worse.

Another thing with MLM is that you almost always have to buy into a company. They dont call it buying in but rather an autoship or something like that. Basically you pay a monthly fee to receive vitamins, herbs, drinks, teas or whatever else. Well with affiliate marketing you could actually get started with absolutely no money. Down the road I would suggest putting some profits back in for like an autoresponder and a few other things. However essentially with affiliate marketing you could continue to be successful forever without ever spending money.

Another thing with MLM is you are stuck with the exact same generic website that everyone else is using. You cant change things or do anything differnt, making it very difficult to stand out from the crowd. With affiliate marketing you can build all the sites you want free or paid and you definately can stand out from everyone else.

At the end of the day there are very good people doing MLM and very good people doing affiliate marketing. Its just in my opinion for what I want out of my internet career I prefer affiliate marketing.
