Most people want to go to college, and some people cannot afford it. But no matter who you are, everyone wants a little spending money. Sure you think, a job here, a job there, it won't add up to be enough for anything. It will though, every penny counts when you are trying to save for your goal to be possible.
1.) Get a job, it doesn't matter if it's just minimum wage, you can work your way up levels of your employment and earn more as your time there increases. A job is something stable, you can't completely rely on it, but it is better than nothing since just relying on a quick babysitting job could leave you needing more money.
2.) Give services to people in your neighborhood or university or city. Babysitting, pet sitting, cleaning houses, mowing lawns, plant sitting, dog walking, and so many more. The best thing about these kinds of jobs are that the government doesn't take away your taxes. Of course, your supposed to go into the bank and fill out a sheet taking tax from that small amount of money, but I don't think anyone does that since it doesn't make a huge difference and you lose profit.
3.) You can enter contests and join websites like helium. It earns you a little extra money, and it's a great way to improve your different skills!
4.) Work double time, If you have a day off from your work at school, then work overtime. It could gain you double the money in the same amount of time as usual!
5.) Take part in a CD, add money to it every 6 months or so, the interest rates are way higher than your regular bank account! You can't withdraw or deposit money in the account until the time frame you chose is over. But you earn so much more interest.
6.) Invest (smartly). Invest in stocks and things like them and stick with it! Over time they will rise, sure they will fall, but in the long run you will make a profit.
7.) Don't go out to eat often. Sure it is nice, but it all adds up to hundreds, even thousands of dollars a year. So have dinner at a friends house once a week (if invited), making food also saves you money, since it is a lot cheaper. Maybe even cut out coupons to save even more.
There is so many other ways to earn extra cash for college, I couldn't list them all, so I listed seven that I thought would work best for me. Just be smart about your money, and don't go crazy buying everything once you get your paycheck. Have fun earning and good luck!
