There is such a correlation between president-elect, Mr. Obama, and Martin Luther King! In fact, Dr. King, will not be looking down from heaven, merely smiling, on Inauguration Day, but rather, he will be crying! He has to be so moved to be crying will joy, with an overwhelmed feeling, so the tears will fall and create its own river! The irony of the Inauguration being the day after the legal holiday, surrounding Martin's birthday is just amazing! He probably knew that in his lifetime, he would not see blacks and whites getting along together, especially with is life cut short.
We should be so inspired by Dr. King's committment and perserverance! Think about the unquestionable and times walks, during the time of the Rosa Parks incident, and because of her actions. The "negroe" people did not give up after a few months, but they walked everywhere for a year, before the bus companies said that they would not be discriminated on the buses anymore. Remember, that without the black people's bus fares, the comany or companies, were ready to go out of business! They could not stay alive without everyone's transit fare. Martin didn't have a crystal ball, but did not budge, until the situation was resolved peacefully.
I believe in loving everyone but have always had a hard time with loving one's neighbor. How can that be done? Can two emotions and feelings occupy the same mind, heart and sould withint a person, simultaneously? At the time when Martin Luther King's home was bombed and went on fire, many people would have reached the end of their rope. We are only human, but even so, that cannot be used as an excuse. Martin showed such resolve, by not holding a bitterness in his heart. Logically, he was right. Where would violence have gotten him? Anger feeds and encyclical situation, and it never ceases. We don't know why people are so angry at others, and we certainly do not understand how life was like in the South in the sixties. Only the people that lived through such things, can understand, despite the awful images on television, from that era. Had more been televised, during that time period, we do not know if people that rioted, would have continued.
Dr. King has inspired me, but it didn't "click", until B. Obama got voted in. No matter who one voted for, during that very questionable time, Obama seesm to have the peace of Dr. King, and the charisma of President Kennedy. While I appreciate President Bush, because I do realize that that no one really knows everything that the president goes through, I welcome the change, that will make our country united, as the United States of America! While President Bush did try to have a bipartism spirt, and work with both Democrats and Republicans, keeping unity in mind, someone like B. Obama, holds the principles of Abe Lincoln; finally the North and the South is not divided in our Union!
Inspiration? I am so touched by the mechanics of how things are going. Never before, do I ever remember a president-elect "lining all the ducks in a row", PRIOR to taking office. He is well-prepared, and will not waste a minute. We usually watch what a president does during the first 90 days. Let's notice what he has done, in the 30 days before the Inauguration! I jsut can't imagine how African Americans feel, knowing that the day has come for change, as Dr. King dreamed, because I am estatic about how everyone feels, already, that we will never be separated or segregated again! Let us pray for our president, and continue to pray for Dr. King Jr., as we thank him for all he has done!
