Windows Vista
The Far-Reaching OS
95, 98, ME, 2000, XP, these may be familiar names to all of us. But as good as Microsoft got XP, isn't there something new and even more enjoyable? Well as a matter of fact, there is! Microsoft will be releasing a brand new operating system January 30, 2007. The name of this new operating system (OS) is Windows Vista, meaning a far-reaching mental view. This suits Windows Vista because; it is sure mind-blowing and maybe even far-fetched. What are the new features? Is it really worth it?
Well, one of the first, most simple new features is the well-known Start Menu. You will have no more trouble finding those hard to find documents. With a new feature installed right on the start menu, called instant search. Just type in a word or a phrase and each item will pop up with that word in it! It couldn't be easier! No more frustration!
There is also an amazing visual effects program called Windows Vista Aero which gives glass like interface elements that you can see through! Windows Vista Aero includes a further level of manageability and ease, with a nice visual touch.
Windows Vista also includes a new Internet Explorer! Internet Explorer 7, which allows you to have one, two, three, even more web pages in the same Explorer page! You can switch through them very easily. Windows Vista also includes things called Gadgets'. These gadgets have many wide
uses, so they are like mini-applications. It can give you a quick view of your entire instant messaging contacts, a calendar, an easy way to control your media player, and they can also be calculators, games, sticky notes, and a whole lot more!
For all the gamers out there, Windows Vista has enhancements to make it easier for you to access, play, and manage you games. You can thumbnail graphics for each game, and display information about your games, when you last played, which version of the game you own, and things like that. Support for the Universal Controller allows you to use the same controller for both your PC and your Xbox 360.
Windows Vista includes Windows Photo Gallery, where you can find the photos you want quicker and easier than ever, and choose from many different ways to organize them. Windows Photo Gallery also includes a new, but exciting, star rating system. You can rate your photos, and even search by the ratings you choose! What about editing your photos? Not a problem, because Windows Photo Gallery has all of these editing features like; cropping, rotating, red-eye
