No matter what type of food you desire, the City of Pittsburgh can satisfy your craving. The city's many neighborhoods are overflowing with amazing restaurants that will keep you coming back for more. One should experience cuisine from each of these areas, in order to gain a sampling of Pittsburgh's finest dining.
Shadyside is the most upscale neighborhood in the city. Dining in this area tends to be a bit pricier than the Pittsburgh average, but well worth the extra money. The Harris Grille is a favorite amongst Shadyside dwellers. The casual chic-like atmosphere sets the perfect tone for a relaxing evening. The menu consists of uniquely named (one appetizer is called the Britney Spears) and concocted items that are sure to leave you wanting more.
Another Shadyside favorite is the restaurant Bites and Brews. This is the place to go if you're looking to dine on pizza, sandwiches or salads. Placing your order also has a fun and unique twist. Patrons are given a paper menu listing all of the eatery's options and told to make marks next to their desired choices.
Located on prestigious Walnut Street, the Walnut Grill is definitely a place that should be experienced by all. The menu features exquisite options, such as the Caramelized Walnut Salad. They pair unlikely ingredients together to give their entrees a special twist, not likely to be found anywhere else. There are three other locations in this small Pittsburgh chain. Shady Grove, which has more of a bar-like atmosphere but also serves food, adjoins this location. Two similarly named Walnut Grove restaurants are located just outside of the city, in suburban areas.
Squirrel Hill is another of Pittsburgh's finer neighborhoods, filled with beautiful homes and rich with culture. This area is overflowing with locally owned restaurants and cafes that cannot be found outside of the Pittsburgh area. The best place in the entire region to visit for Mediterranean style fare is Aladdin's. Famous for their mouth-watering pitas, hummus and salads, one trip is all you need to become addicted. Aladdin's restaurant is so good that in recent years they have expanded to a few other locations in the area.
Cupcake lovers will find their own little paradise at Dozen bakeshop. This tiny little caf has become renown in the area for their amazing cupcakes. From the perfect manor in which the cupcakes are decorated to their incredible taste, Dozen is guaranteed to become a favorite. Another location, which serves breakfast and lunch,
