Avon's Mark products are definitely some of the best I've had the chance to sample. While I'm not as picky as some about makeup, I can be a little on the choosy side when it comes to what I put on my eyes, cheeks and lips. I've come to the firm conclusion, over the past 30 years, that make-up is expensive and it can either make a person look better or worse, according to the product and application. I prefer makeup that goes on easily, lasts for more than a couple of hours, and keeps me from looking too made-up. That's why I like Mark.

Over the past few months I've sampled some of my favorites from Avon and a few of the items from their newer additions, Mark. While I haven't found a product from Mark that I dislike, I have found some that I really like.

The Mark catalog tells me that their creamy shadow "Winkstick" is a hook-up Eye Shadow Stick in shades that glide on smoothly and provide a lasting shimmer. The colors included are envious, heartfelt, demure, moody, wealthy, glitzy, coy, and innocent. The one I have is heartfelt, a soft, light color that I would describe as a blend between pastel rose and beige. I like colors that are combinations of rose, mauve and light browns and this one is on the lighter side of rose. I like it.

The hook-ups are created for convenience and selection. When you purchase a hook-up in a lip color, shadow or blush that is described as a hook-up, you know you can attach two products, using the hook-up connector that is free with the purchase of two Mark hook-ups. This keeps the products together in your purse or pocket, making them easier to find and use.

The Winkstick goes of smoothly and blends easily with my other shadows. It could easily be used as a tool for blending liners and shadows, but works well alone. And, most importantly, it goes on lightly, without any need for using make-up remover to erase mistakes. And, when I'm finished I just cap it and snap it back into the end of the hook-up that is attached to a Mark blush. This makes it much easier to keep up with the shadow and the blush.

Hook-ups are described as plug-n-play items and come in a metallic liners, creamy shadows (Heartfelt shadow I have), shimmery shadow pencils, thickening mascara, liquid liners, plumping lip glosses, shimmer lip powders, sheer lip glosses, sparkling lip glosses, tubes of shimmer gel blush that I have and lip color pencils. All of the Mark hook-ups are sensible and sensitive to the needs of those who carry makeup in their handbag or even in a coat pocket. They attach easily but firmly to each other and make it so much easier to keep up with the two together.

Mark's Winkstick in Heartfelt is priced at $5.00 and I believe it's definitely one of Avon's best products. If you like light and lasting shadows that are convenient to use, you will probably like Avon's Mark Winkstick. The colors are shimmery and smooth, go on quick and easy and make my eyes look better instead of worse.
