The murders that occurred in the house before the Lutzes moved in did in fact happen. The account of demons from the Lutzes did not. For one thing, the location of the red room has changed in their stories multiple times to various locations around the house, for another weather patterns and moon phases reported by George Lutz seem to conflict with the time of the month and the reported forecast. The account of the minister supposedly attacked by flys was completely false, he still lives happily in the town with no visible problems and denies that this happened. Any photos provided by Lutz are mere reflections of light on a window. Most of all, though, is that William Weber has confessed that he and Lutz wrote this up over "a bottle of wine" and no person living in the house before or since has reported anything strange. Also to note is that when being questioned, Lutz gave simple convenient answers to questions such as being unable to name the demons or else he would be haunted again by them.
