A days menu? Whats the use of that! Here is a 7 day menu, breakfast , lunch and dinner.
First of all the main ingredient is eating WELL. To do this I prefer to eat all natural or organically. You may argue that it is more expensive but if more people did choose to eat better the prices would go down and I am doing whatever I have to do to ensure that we get to eat the best possible food for our bodies to thrive and DIGEST. Having additives, colourings and all the other junk added to our food only slows our bodies down, our poor system spends half its time confused as to what to actually do with the additives and generally ends up storing it somewhere, which leads to many complications. We owe it to ourselves to have a purer food altogether. Taking this into consideration your diet can then include somethings which you might otherwise not consider healthy. On the other hand, the porridge your feeding to your child may be instant and seems quick and nutritious but is the sugar content, salt content and fake freeze dried fruit really worth it? I am going to take for granted that the following menu suggestions are bought after looking at the ingredients, buying all natural or organic where possible and substituting sugar for honey. Grilling or broiling, steaming or boiling, not adding fat and choosing low fat alternatives. For instance instead of cream cheese use American Neufchtel. Which is a lower-fat product marketed as a healthier alternative to cream cheese. It is not identical to French Neufchtel. American Neufchtel is somewhat softer than cream cheese due to its 33% lower fat and higher moisture content.
Breakfast:
Porridge with a sprinkle of organic brown sugar or honey on top with either fruit or all spice. Mix in apples and cinnamon. Or a tea spoon of cocoa powder and honey or some preserves.
Cereal - the usual cornflakes and Cheerios are enriched with vitamins and are available in organic. Some days instead of milk use soy milk, rice milk or nut (almond & hazelnut) milk. Try shredded wheat and weetabix types, most children love cereal in all forms. Buy whole wheat versions of your favourites. Try cereals with flax and or seeds added. Sprinkle with evaporated or organic cane juice Sugar. The morning is where it should be. Don't make them crave it and don't give anything refined or processed, if it sat on a shelf for a year its not going to do you any good.
Granola: Make your own - take your child shopping for oat clusters, raisins, nuts, sunflower seeds,
