Bound by no chains,
I know I am
Free.
So why does it feel
Like I'm linked to
A line,
A lineage of
Toilers in a field of
Ordered complacency.
Yes. Complacent.
Everyone I see,
Are fine with the setting.
They work, they live their
Lives, as though
Unaware of their
Enslavement.
Maybe I am the only one.
Perhaps they are free
And I've been caught.
I work against my
Will. I work for
Their society.
I work, I live
In a reality far
From my own.
I hear the voices, vague
And distant.
They accept what is
Given. Can not be
Changed.
They are bound
To what is
And can not see
What could be.
Why?
How?
Who am I to be
The one
That knows?
It must be self inflated
Ego.
I must be ill.
I must be
Imagining
That there could be more
Than what we see around
Us.
That must be it.
There certainly aren't
Walls around us,
Nothing keeping us
In.
But, then why cant
I see the
Horizon?
We must be chained together
So that we don't
Wander and get
Lost.
But who decides that
Here is where we
Should be?
It must only be
Me?
