When embarking on a road trip one thing must be remembered. The last thing you wish for is a migraine. In saying that, music chosen should be serene not a constant pounding to your ear drums. Ballads, soft ballads are the best. They can be calming yet not overbearing to the ears. Not only that if you do have the stereo pumped up your lack of concentration is at risk.
(For many reasons.) such as you will or could fail to hear emergency services nearing you.
Take into account also many may b traveling with young children. There is nothing worse than the constant replay of the wriggles or worse yet, a million green bottles...
Sing along is great as it certainly makes the time fly yet be warned. Road accidents have occurred by drivers not realizing that as they have pumped up the stereo they have also pumped up their speed.
Singalongs as I said are great but you don't want a load of passengers also seat dancing in the back to further distract you.
I personally favor country and western ballads, but that is merely my individual choice.
Alternating between music is also good as every passenger gets to hear what they truly enjoy.
I usually do a round of country, then contemporary, then ballads, followed by a join in with a singalong of soft ballads.
Just take into account when you tire of this your offspring may not!
To soothe them into silence a few calming lullabies or nursery rhymes could do the trick!
Happy traveling! By the way make sure your tyres are safe as well as your spare!
