If you have been struggling to find a good legitimate work at home career, then let me share, self-publishing with you. Three children make it difficult to work outside the home. Unlike many families that have grandparents watching their babies, I don't have this luxury. My parents work a full-time business and simply cannot lend a hand. My husband works full time during the day so even if I attempted working outside the home, the hours I could invest would look pretty pathetic.

So what's a girl to do? I have always had a passion for reading and writing. It's like the words in a book leap to life in my mind. Later I discovered I was called to preach but I'm the quiet type. Months flew by as I had preacher after preacher lay hands on me, to pray off the quietness. Nothing changed.

Here was the predictament I was in. I really had a desire to contribute to my husbands finances. My husband has told me a dozen times that I could just be a stay at home mom, but that didn't satisfy me. Also, what did God want me to do? I kept praying for this for months. Then one day the Lord revealed to me, that I was called to preach, just not behind the pulpit. He laid it upon my heart to start a book ministy. Then it all became so clear. I was quiet on the outside but my writing had touched people in the past. If one book could help encourage someone, then I believe it's worth all the effort. I discovered that my passion was my ministry. Were all preachers in some sort of way.

Self-publishing offers many rewards for an at home business or for Corporate America. It's a great way to let the public know what your about. It acts as a great advertisement too. The best part is that it doesn't have to cost a fortune. I've ran across companies that were as low as $100.00 The only thing you need to consider is how to market your work? If your a business, are you holding a fundraiser? Are you interested in book signings? Will you need help advertising your books? Although it may seem difficult, if your willing to pay approximately $500.00 then many self-publishing companies will advertise a website for you along with book placement. What I mean by this is take AuthorHouse for examplr. This is the self-publishing company i prefer. They place your book at many major bookstores including,Barnes & Nobles, Amazon.com, Barnes & Nobles.com. The list is a mile long.

Whatever the reasons are for self-publishing, just know anyone can do it. If your a stay at home mother like me, and love to write, then this is perfect. I prefer to work alone as most authors do. If you can't stand having uniterupted time, working deadlines, then writing is probably not for you. As for small businesses or retail chains, the publication of a book could increase your sales.
