You may at first wonder if there is actually a problem with the size of shorts. After-all, are shorts not supposed to be...um, well, short? The distinction, however, between underwear and some of the very shortest pairs of shorts is getting less and less. In fact, many shorts are so tiny that they reveal the wearers knickers.

A far worse problem than the wearers knickers peering out from under their little shorts is when body parts that should only be seen by their owner and the owners lover are revealed. This tends to happen when men wear tiny shorts that still gape around the top of the thigh.

Then there are little shorts that are worn very low down, much further than the owners waist area. These make me feel like I must be getting old as I find myself thinking that this sort of thing wouldn't have been allowed when I was young.

However, I was a child of the seventies and during this period little shiny shorts were common amongst roller skating youngsters and disco queens. Therefore this current phase of tiny shorts isnt new after-all, and I am indeed getting older in my attitude toward respectability combined with dress sense.

Perhaps the main issue with such shorts is that they just don't seem worth wearing. If they are smaller than the wearers knickers, or briefs as they are sometimes referred to because of their diminutive size, then why bother?

It turns out that its all about fashion and attraction. Sexy fashion has always been in vogue, and no doubt always will be in some form or the other. Just as the mini skirt came back into fashion little shorts have too.

This makes me contemplate what may follow. Could it be the cheeky jeans that once made headlines in the early seventies because they had see through panels located on the bottom cheeks? Or could the next comeback be codpieces for men as general day wear? Or have I just gone too far back in history now?

Many different types of fashion were looked upon with scorn when they were first introduced to the fashion scene. Perhaps the re-emergence of what many of us wore when we were young is too much for us now that we have discovered tailoring and classics.

Tiny shorts are not the sporn of the devil. Much worse happens in life than having to view the odd thong or, um, whatever is being revealed. But they are just another thing that makes an observers day uncomfortable, along with yobs who spit in the street and torrential rain when you've just had a new hair do.
