Prisoner of the Night
The sun nestles into the horizon.
Leaving the sky aglow.
The moon rises in her glory.
Leaving my heart low.
The sounds of dusk fill the air.
The stars peek through in tiny gleams.
I am restless again.
Too filled with sorrow to find my dreams.
The blackness of night is upon me.
The eternal darkness all around.
Others are lying together in their beds.
While for me, alone, comfort can't be found.
When the sun rises to a new morn.
I,like always, will be all right.
The day is my savior, releasing me;
from the tortures I endure in the night.
