Looking for Bigfoot

The idea of looking for the illustrious Bigfoot is an alluring one. However, the reality of such an endeavor is a completely different matter. There are several things to consider before taking on such a task. After you accomplish those tasks, you then have to consider where "Bigfoot" is likely to reside.

Almost every parapsychologist and crypto-zoologist dreams of finding something amazing. The drive for this is to prove to the rest of the world that there is something else out there. For many of them, the evidence is enough to prove the existence of a creature like Bigfoot. There are plaster casts of human-like feet that no human can make. There are samples of hair that belongs to no known animal. Then there are videos, pictures, and audio recordings of something that is unknown.

Probably the most famous of video recordings is the Patterson-Gimlin footage. The film was taken in October of 1967 and has been the dispute of skeptics and believers for years.

"Well, if Patterson and Gimlin were able to shoot a Bigfoot, why cant I?" might be a question that you are asking. There is a very simple answer to that question. There are thousands of square miles of unexplored country in the American North West, alone. There has been a record of at least 75 airplane crashes, which have never been found.

Then there is the fact that if the mere area that you would have to cover does not deter you, and then you have to look at supplies. You need cameras capable of night shots since this is when the beast is most known to move around. You would also need audio equipment, a mode of transportation, food for yourself as well as water, most likely a crew, tents, lights, flashlights, batteries, and the bags that you would transport your equipment in. More things would need to be bought and taken too, such as a GPS system in case you get lost.

Lets say you get funding. Then you have to choose a crew. If you choose friends, you might end up having a few problems because they might recognize the order of command. If they do, then you could end up loosing a friendship over the opportunity. If you take on complete strangers, you will not know if they are truly interested in finding Bigfoot or just want to create a name for themselves. With strangers, you have the added problem of them getting over excited and exaggerating, or flat out lying, if anything happens.

You finally get funding and a worthwhile crew who respects you as a boss. You have determined where to go. You get there
