Elected officials using taxpayer money for office decor

There seams to an on going thing about our elected officials and that is what ever the Democrats do is fine and dandy, but what ever the G.O.P. does is wrong.

The state should not pay for the furnishing of any elected official state or Federal. If the tax payers do the furnishing become the property of the state.

If the incoming rep. wants new furnishing then he or she must either sell off the old and the money that is generated goes to the new or to the state treasuries same with the federal.

Nancy and all of her buddies in the House and Senate fly around in large jets and bill the tax payers for it. nancy uses a 757 to fly from Washington D.C. to California. We foot the bill. It takes some where in the neighborhood of a million dollars to fly her to and from the two cities. Although she does need a plane to get back and forth. But Why does she need a 757 to do so?

As for the furnishing they redo their offices more than any other place in the government or private sector. One Democrat governor replaced his office furniture at least once a year at the whim of his wife and the tax payers footed the bill. Although it has been several years ago that this had happen it did.

What was wrong with the old stuff one might ask? Nothing not even a scrach on it yet it had to be changed out to the tune of $250,000 a pop. The old furniture went into a storage unit until the governor and his wife were ready to use it again or sell it.

Besides I still can't figure out why do they need such exspensive office furniture for. When a trip down to Staples, Office Max, or Office Depot will do the job for a lot less money.

All three places has great office furnishings and cost a fraction of what the Governors pays for theirs, Not only that the quality is just as good perhaps even better than the most exspencive furniture out on the market. ousted Secretary of State Don Rumsfeld spent lest than any other. He had a podium in his office instead of a large desk but it was never reported on how much he had spent on the office make over. He didn't have a chair of any sorts in there either.

It seams like that whatever a Democrat wants to spend on office furniture and is swept under the rug unless a Conservative paper get a hold of the amount and reports it. Then the regular media comes out of the wood work saying well so-n-so spent this on his office. Always ready to defend what the Democrats spent.

I think that if any City, state, or fedral wants to redo his or her office they should be limited to a one time spending of ten thousand dollars. If they want to spend more than that it comes out of their own pocket not the tax payer's.
