Smog pollution and how to stop it

For those of you who do not know, smog is the gasses and particles created by the burning of fossil fuels. The result is a cloud that looks like fog and could very well be fog if that cloud just contained water vapor. The people within the Chinese Government absolutely know how to stop smog. Yes, they successfully accomplished that and they did it within a very short period of time.

China was the host Country for the 2008 Summer Olympics and before the start of the games people from every part of our World saw the city where those games will be played. At that time a person could only travel around that place with the use of a facemask that helped to prevent breathing the polluted air. Yes the smog was so thick that you couldn't see an object that was as far away as a city block.

If you remember, many cities within the United States of America also had a smog problem. Mexico City and those other densely populated cities of or World still have that problem.

The cause of smog is all of those pollution spewing and outdated factories and the burning of other petroleum based fossil fuels. Each and every petroleum burning mode of transportation is, in fact, a huge contributor to the creation of smog.

Be that as it may, the people within the Government of China simply closed hundreds of pollution spewing factories within and around their Capital City. As a result, less people traveled to work and home each day, so vehicle traffic volume was far less than normal.

The smog soon vanished, just in time for the World's people to see the 2008 Summer Olympics from the comfort of their own homes. However, these days it's business as usual and that city is as smoggy as ever.

I myself wonder how many people within that city will suffer greatly from a smog related breathing problem. Your guess is as good as mine, but as long as a long term solution to that smog problem isn't created and put into use the smog will most certainly kill some of those people.

It seems that the creation of smog and our current global warming problem are both caused mainly by the same thing. That is, the World-Wide uncontrolled burning of fossil fuels.

Without a doubt, we must replace all of those pollution spewing factories with up to date low pollution factories and each of us should replace our fossil fuel guzzling modes of transportation with "Green Friendly" vehicles when they become available within the market.
