Do you believe that your Parrot is unique and intelligent? Perhaps even smart enough to talk? Would you like your Parrot to talk to you and have conversations with you? But do you know how to teach your Parrot to talk properly?

Unfortunately, most parrot owners believe that only African Grey Parrots, Cockatoos or Macaw Parrots are the only parrots that can talk. However, any parrot can learn to talk as long as they receive proper instruction and support from their owners. For example, if you always show enthusiasm for each word and phrase that you say to your parrot, he will quickly pick up on your excitement and will start to pronounce those fun sounding words too.

However it is best not to repeat words, rather describe to your Parrot what you are doing as you go about your daily chores with him. Remember to say hello when you come home and good bye when you leave for the day. Also, always repeat words with the same actions or at the same time of day, such as "Good Night" every night before you put your Parrot to sleep.

Not all parrots are ready and willing to learn to talk when the time suites you, however, a great clue to know when your parrot is ready to learn something, is by noticing whether or not his pupils change whenever you speak to him. You will also notice him stop and stare intently at you as you talk to him.

Wouldn't it be nice to be able to impress your friends and family members with your parrots talking ability? Can you picture the looks on your friends' faces when they hear your parrot talking?

Keep in mind that most parrots can live up to 70 years or longer, if given a good diet and proper care. So be sure to teach your parrot only sounds and words that you would like to hear for the next seventy years.

How amazed will everyone be when they find out that you have a talking parrot? The two of you will become the talk of the town'.

Place your parrot and his cage in an area of your house where he can watch and listen from the people in your house, such as in the living room. As long as your Parrot is in the company of good conversation and in the right environment, he will learn to talk very soon.

Also, make sure that your parrot only hears your voice. So do not have the TV or radio on in the background, as this type of noise can be very distracting for your parrot. Another final tip, is to choose a time of day when you and your Parrot can have each other's undivided attention. Training a Parrot to talk this way is much easier and faster for both you!
