That the presidency of George Bush is a failure is an understatement. It is a foregone conclusion that his tenure had more negatives to it than positives. His first term in office was better relatively than his second, given the enthusiasm expressed by the American people after his speech following the 9/11 terrorist attacks. President Bush came into the White House with many Americans skeptical about his victory at the presidential election. He did not carry the majority vote that should have made Americans feel more comfortable with him as the commander-in-chief. Although, the electoral college returned him as the winner, many people felt he did not deserve to win. Anyway, since that is the pattern of electing the president in the United States, he got the presidency nevertheless.

Given the problems he created for the country by his action or inaction (especially having more enemies than friends at home and worldwide), one is tempted to believe that his legacy is nothing but that of a villain, and that history will judge him as the president who left the country worse than he met it. Several issues of national importance put his legacy at crossroad with other presidents who impacted positively on the lives of American people. It is not a gainsaying that President Bush's years in the While House can be considered by right-thinking individuals as those years in the life of a nation that were not spent for the general wellbeing of the people.

The American economy has never been so battered in recent decades as it is right now. His spending on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan has jointly increased the country's expenditures astronomically, and it has made Americans paid for unnecessary and unjust invasion that the attack on Iraq has become. It's just unfair to the people of United States that the president should be so arrogant about a cause that does not consider how majority of the populace feel towards actions of government. Even though the initial stage of the war got the blessing of the legislature, courtesy demands that during the cause of the war, common sense should prevail, and a reversal of action should have been taken at the appropriate time to avoid the loss of lives and resources that has been the lot of America over the past six years. Available statistics show that Bush's presidency has the lowest rating ever recorded in recent history of American presidents. From the time he started his second term to the end of his tenure, his rating has dropped
