If you want to make the world a better place then why don't you start doing so today? It won't be simple, as a matter of fact, it might be the hardest task that you've ever undertaken but it can be done.
It will take determination, commitment, energy and undying resolve but it can be accomplished. Most unlikely it won't be accomplished by the efforts of one but it can be accomplished by the efforts of many committed to a single worthwhile cause.
Do you think that you are the only one who feels that the society that we live in today or the world as a whole is going to Hell? Open your ears and listen to what others are saying. If you do, I think that you will realize that there are many others, if not the majority of others, who feel the same as you do. For every person that complains about something there are ten people that feel the same way yet choose to remain silent. Maybe that is the "silent majority" that President Reagan referred to years ago.
That being said, we continue to wake up each day and complain about the world that we live in yet are unwilling to attempt to change it. Why do we choose to do so? Why do we choose not to at least attempt to change it and make it a better place? Do we lack resolve or is it that much easier to tolerate the intolerable?
I answer my own question by saying, "Yes, it is easier to accept than it is to try to change it." But, I refuse to accept my own answer. I am beyond acceptance. It is my conclusion that if we continue a lifestyle of acceptance and tolerance then the end is nearer than most imagine. I try every day to make the world a better place. Some days are more successful than others but I continue to try and so should you.
Making the world a better place to live doesn't happen in quantum leaps. It happens in miniscule movements forward. It happens with a determination to treat all people with dignity and respect. It happens by not allowing the behaviors of others to distract you from behaving the way that you know is correct. It happens by treating others as you would want to be treated. Does anybody remember "The Golden Rule"?
It is my opinion that the media today so influences our society and the world that we live in and by doing so it influences our behaviors. Yesteryear's "Leave it to Beaver" that focused on family values and relationships has been replaced with today's "Hannah Montana" which makes kids feel that everybody is a "Rock Star". If you want the world to be a better place boycott the programs that detract
