Firefox in no doubt the great browser, that emerge form the other the great mozilla browser, which is dominating other browsers in Linux for long time.  But for Windows, Firefox is relatively new; nonetheless it is better in many cases than other browsers like internet explorer and Netscape.

It is first of all free, easily available, and easy to install. It can be installed even if you do not have administrator privilege to your machine. This means, you can install it in your office accounts, where you are just a user. After installation it can be used right away, unlike other browser in particular the internet explorer, in which case the computer has to be restarted.

It has powerful in build pop up blocker. In fact I am using this browser since couple of year. And to my memory I have not faced the problem of the pop up. Well appearing pop up depends up on the kind of site you are visiting. But in general if you have Firefox you don't need any other kind of software or tool bar to stop pop up.

I like Firebox most because it allows you to keep the website you frequently visit in book mark tool bar folder. You can replace the address with the little icons or some name of your choice. All you have to do is to bookmark the site and put it in bookmark tool bar folder check its property and put the name if you like or clear the long name so that you see just an icon in your tool bar. For example, you see G only in case of Google and Y in case of Yahoo, MSN in case of MSN, etc. This comes out to be real handy. You just click the icon and enjoy your favorite website.

The other nice feature with Firebox is its free email client. File transfer software filezilla that allows you to transfer file between your account in Linux's system and Window's system. You have to download them separately but they are all available form the same website.

The only disappointing aspect of Firefox is it does not have as much add-ons as Internet Explorer. For example, there are number of website specifically customized for Internet Explorer. Especially, the music website has that problem. Sometime you have to have Internet Explorer to listen to the music online in some sites, specifically those use Window Media Player. Also, some of the flash player and other player such as Opel player are available for Internet Explorer.  But for general use, it's a great and reliable browser. It is safe, good looking, easy and small.

Internet Explorer 7.0 - the latest version - looks lot like Firefox, but I think the Firefox has the original look. If you have not tried using it yet, it's worth giving a shoot to see how it is. I think you will instantly fall in love with it. But anyway, it's better to have alternative browser in your computer in case one goes wrong sometime. Which you want to use as a principle browser is of course your choice.
