RotoAdventures Momo is a game that simply uses a computer mouse to guide a squirrel named Momo through worlds full of castles, neighborhoods, trees, and more. Choose to play on the light side, running from monsters and helping the creatures you encounter. Or play on the dark side as a punk squirrel that picks fights and tries to spray pain grafiti with out getting caught!
Game Play -
Use the tutorial to become aquainted with the basics of game play. This game is very easy to play because all it requires is a computer mouse. Momo will follow the acorn that you move along in front of him and he will jump when you left-click. Make him jump from building to building or tree to tree and collect gems along the way to gain lives and collect prizes. Choosing the light side will allow Momo to help out the friends he encounters and run away from the monsters of his scary new world. Choose the dark side, though, and the only running Momo will be doing is from the cops! Various levels of difficulty keep you engaged and determined to finish each level.
Graphics -
Although the graphics are simple they are visually appealing. Momo runs along a static background with animated creatures, prizes, and monsters in the foreground. The presentation is simple but clean with not a lot of clutter on the screen. The game is very easy to navigate and access the different levels or menu.
Sound -
The sound quality for RotoAdventures Momo is quite good. The music is also fitting and never gets dull or overused as it changes from level to level.
Creativity -
The option to play on the light or dark side is a good addition to a simple, yet entertaining game like this one. The dark side option comes with a plea to not choose that path in real life. The various prizes you can collect are fun because they build on skills you have already learned. There are certainly a very limited number of games that have a squirrel as the main character!
Innovation -
This game is very simple and is nothing special graphically and sound-wise. The dialoge bubbles that appear seem to have been poorly edited or mistranslated. The variation in skill levels and worlds is a great way to keep the player involved and interested.
This was an enjoyable game no matter which side you choose. For only $19.95 you can have access to 20 worlds, 10 major enemies, and alternative endings. It is definitely worth purchasing because the game is different from a lot of games out there for the same price!
