Everyone who is in love dreamt of a fairytale happy ending. When you marry someone, you see that someone as your lasting life partner. But how come that after a few years of being together, things seems to be different. There are some who can remedy their differences and kept their relationship intact but there are also some who are very unfortunate to end up their marriage permanently.

I believe that there is no such thing as a perfect marriage. But there are couples who believe that they can definitely cope-up with their differences and keep their relationship going. It is their will to keep their marriage intact that makes it last for a lifetime. Here are some pointers on how to make a great marriage:

Learn to love your spouse's negative side. When we love, we should not only love the best that our spouse can give but even what makes your partner worse. We cannot really discover the true personality and traits of our spouse unless we live together. Learning to accept what the person truly is will be a good start of a great marriage.

Set aside fairytale kind of life and learn to accept realities of your marriage. Real life scenario does not only consist of good times but shared with bad moments. Not all spouses are perfect mate for us. Each has each own lapses as well as we do. It is just the manner of how you handle each situation that will result to a happy ending.

Avoid nagging or lecturing mode of conversation. It is just normal for your spouse to commit mistake sometime for no one is made perfect not even you. Correcting your spouse mistake can be done in a more courteous way in a way that will enhance your support and concern rather than insult and degradation.

Don't expect too much from your spouse. Too much expectation can lead you to frustration that can greatly affect your feelings towards your partner. Just always bear in mind that you and your spouse is considered as one person beginning the time you were married. Each decision and actions must always be shared and done together. Helping and supporting each other will help keep your marriage intact and last forever.

Love, trust and respect your spouse with all your heart. These are actually the basic elements of a happy marriage. The secret that makes a great marriage are the couples themselves. How long they wanted to be with one another will determine how long the marriage will last.
